Dieting Menopause Style

During a woman’s life, there will be a stage were she no longer will be producing the eggs or ovulation has ceased. When this happens, a woman will be suffering forma whole lot of symptoms that is very discomforting. This is because the hormones known as estrogens become fewer.

There will be lots of symptoms that a woman experiencing menopause will experience. One of those symptoms will be a fluctuation of weight. Depending on a woman, she may either lose or gain weight.

For a woman who is trying to maintain certain weight, this will become more difficult for a woman in the menopause stage. The diet plan, the lifestyle, and the everyday needs of the person should all be included when planning a diet. To make dieting during menopause stage easier, here are some steps that may help.

The first thing you should do is consult with a primary healthcare provider. Ask the health care provider what the proper diet and exercise should be for you after telling the symptoms you experience and your lifestyle. Your health, goals and other treatment plans you choose is considered before choosing what program to implement.

Next the diet you choose should be combined with certain herbs that help menopause as well. Menopause may cause you to lose some focus on your diet plan. Include black cohosh and soy isoflavones to your diet. There are still lots of herbs out there that you can research about to add to your meal or diet.

Develop realistic goals. Base these goals on the amount you eat and your lifestyle. No one knows yourself better than you. Base this from what you eat and how fast you want to lose weight. If you know you eat a lot of junk foods don’t expect to lose that weight in a span of weeks.

Remember the food pyramid way back in grade school? Base your diet on the proper food pyramid. Don’t sacrifice your health just too lose weight. Remember that you are more prone to diseases when you are in the menopausal stage. Remember to keep it balanced, nutritious and delicious.

Try not to also reduce your calorie intake way too much. A woman who weighs 250lbs should have intake of 1200 calories. You don’t want to hasten your death by starving yourself to death. It will just cause your metabolism to slow down. You will just need more calories just to stabilize your weight then. It will then be a cycle that will never end.

Dieting alone doesn’t mean you’ll lose weight. It needs to be accompanied with exercise. Exercise also benefits lots of ways to a person experiencing menopause.
